Dreams are exhilarating.\u00a0 Goals are inspiring.\u00a0 Imaginings are fun.\u00a0 It all sounds so great and glamorous. Until it comes time to SIT DOWN AND DO THE WORK<\/span>.\u00a0 This is when most people check out or make excuses or find busy work to distract and avoid the work required.\u00a0 I know because I\u2019ve done it all myself. \u00a0I\u2019ve organized all my Presidents to face forward in my wallet.\u00a0 I\u2019ve left my desk to organize a drawer.\u00a0 I\u2019ve buried myself in emails and websites and research and seminars. All other pursuits can sound so noble when avoiding the work it takes to build a dream.\u00a0 Step by step.<\/p>\n

Creating the content for this website was an enormous task far bigger than I ever imagined. But it\u2019s a BIG day!\u00a0 I just submitted the last bit of copy to Sara, my web designer.\u00a0 This blog is the final step before launch.\u00a0 Unfortunately, I am fresh out of words.\u00a0 I need to recharge.\u00a0 I need to stop eating heaping bowls of baked Cheetohs late into the night and into the early hours of the morning.\u00a0 I need to get back to full nights of sleep.\u00a0 I need to get back to the gym.<\/p>\n

This entire process has reminded me that the dreams we elevate and cherish do not come with elevators.\u00a0 There are no express trips.\u00a0 We have to take the stairs.\u00a0 Day in and day out.\u00a0 One small step at a time.<\/span> Here\u2019s a photo of a big dumpster I pass every day in my neighborhood and it reminds me that dream building takes the \u201cDouble D\u201d\u2026DAILY DISCIPLINE. <\/span><\/p>\n

What small step can you take today to move closer to your dream?\u00a0 How about tomorrow?\u00a0 And the day after that?<\/span><\/p>\n
