At least that\u2019s what happened in my little corner of the world this morning.\u00a0 As I hang out with God in my prayer chair, I\u2019m still processing how the Broadway show \u201cOnce\u201d captured my heart last night and won\u2019t let it go.\u00a0 How the musical number \u201cFalling Slowly<\/i>\u201d – winner of an Academy Award for best original song \u2013 described me when I first met up with my Broadway buddy Brent downtown for dinner.<\/p>\n
All week long I\u2019d been falling slowly to the point I thought of cancelling much-loved theater night.\u00a0 Early mornings.\u00a0 Late nights.\u00a0 Two kids in two sports with conflicting car pool schedules.\u00a0 Client deadlines.\u00a0 Tough marriage counseling session.\u00a0 \u201cMoods that take me and erase me and they paint me black<\/i>.\u201d\u00a0 And the mood didn\u2019t lighten at dinner either as is usually the case.\u00a0 Brent shared the shocking news that a long-time, dear friend of ours had learned 24 hours prior that he\u2019s extremely sick and facing the fight of his life to beat advanced cancer.\u00a0 Heaviness weighed on our hearts as tears fell shared.<\/p>\n
